Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a display control apparatus including an image producing part that produces an image of a virtual space to be displayed on a head-mounted display, a display control part that causes the head-mounted display to display thereon the image of the virtual space, and a position selecting part that accepts a selection instruction for a position in the virtual space displayed on the head-mounted display, through an input apparatus used by a user. When the position selecting part accepts the selection instruction for the position from the user, the position selecting part causes the head-mounted display to display thereon an image of the input apparatus, and accepts the selection instruction for the position from a plurality of selectable positions in accordance with an input position relative to a touch pad included in the input apparatus.

Methods and apparatus provide for carrying out a method for rendering a virtual-three dimensional space on a display, including: acquiring information indicative of a position of a head mounted display worn on a head of a user; acquiring information indicative of a position of an input apparatus for use by the user; acquiring information indicative of an instruction entered in the input apparatus; and generating an image of the virtual three-dimensional space to be displayed on the head mounted display at a viewpoint position and a sightline direction, where the generating includes generating an image of the input apparatus at the position in the image determined on a basis of a relative position with the head mounted display of the input apparatus, and where the generating includes generating an image of a hand of the user when the user controls the input apparatus.

A method for graphics processing. The method including rendering graphics for an application using a plurality of graphics processing units (GPUs). The method including using the plurality of GPUs in collaboration to render an image frame including a plurality of pieces of geometry. The method including during a pre-pass phase of rendering, generating information at the GPUs regarding the plurality of pieces of geometry and their relation to a plurality of screen regions. The method including assigning the plurality of screen regions to the plurality of GPUs based on the information for purposes of rendering the plurality of pieces of geometry in a subsequent phase of rendering.
