A printing device has a print unit for printing on roll paper; a wireless communication unit for communicating wirelessly with a paired control device; and a controller for receiving print data by wireless communication from the control device, and controlling the print unit based on the received print data. When changing from a pairing-disabled mode to a pairing-enabled mode, the controller controls the print unit to print pairing-related information on roll paper, does not process pairing in the pairing-disabled mode, and processes pairing when a pairing request is received in the pairing-enabled mode.

Abstract:
When one of directions in which a carriage moves is a first scanning direction, and the other one of the directions is a second scanning direction, a tube extends in the first scanning direction, is bent in the second scanning direction with a curved portion, and is coupled to the carriage. The tube has a first portion, which is an immovable portion that does not move as the carriage reciprocates, and a second portion, which is a movable portion that moves as the carriage reciprocates. The first portion is fixed to a mounting plate, which is an example of a fixing section, the tube and a supporting member are held together by a holding member, and the mounting plate has a stepped portion, which is an example of a contact preventing portion configured to prevent contact with the holding member holding the movable portion of the tube.

Abstract:
A printer includes a gap adjustment unit that displaces a carriage in a Z-axis direction in which a gap changes. The gap adjustment unit has a sliding member that moves in a width direction integrally with the carriage, and a cam member that is interposed between the carriage and the sliding member and has a stepped portion in which a maintenance surface that maintains a position of the carriage in the Z-axis direction and an adjustment surface that changes the position of the carriage in the Z-axis direction are alternately arranged in the width direction. The gap adjustment unit is configured such that the cam member slides in the width direction with respect to the carriage and the sliding member to change the gap. The gap adjustment unit includes a buffer unit that decreases a displacement speed of the carriage in the Z-axis direction when the gap is reduced.
