Abstract:
System and methods are provided for calculating a lane maneuver delay for different lane maneuvers and different road segments at different times of the day to generate a predicted lane maneuver delay for use in routing and navigation services. A lane-level map-matcher identifies the lane a vehicle is driving on using positional sensors. Sensor data is obtained from vehicle sensors using the left-turn and right-turn signal lights sensor. A lane maneuver delay value is calculated from the time period a left-turn or right-turn signaling light was kept on before a vehicle completed a lane maneuver. The lane maneuver delay values are aggregated to generate a predicted lane maneuver delay that may be used in lane level routing instructions.

A method is provided for the creation of parking lot geometry that can be used to provide guidance to a vehicle through the parking lot. Methods may include: generating a road network of a parking lot based on a plurality of probe data points; map matching the plurality of probe data points to road links of the parking lot; identifying parking lot accessor road links; identifying a building affinity link; identifying primary parking lot road links, where primary parking lot road links include at least one of a trajectory count, probe count, or average or median probe speed that is higher than a respective trajectory count, probe count, or average or median speed of non-primary parking lot road links; establishing a route from a parking lot accessor road link to the building affinity link; and providing for guidance of a vehicle along the route.

Abstract:
A method is provided for gathering probe data and using the gathered data to create map intersection turn paths. Methods may include: receiving probe data from a plurality of probes passing through an intersection; identifying a turn maneuver of the intersection including an incoming road link and an outgoing road link; generating a curve of the turn maneuver based on a geometry of the intersection and a scaling factor; filtering the probe data based on the generated curve to obtain remaining probe data; fitting a spline to the remaining probe data to generate a turn path representative of the turn maneuver; and providing for guidance of a vehicle based on the spline of the turn path. Embodiments including apparatuses and computer program products for creating map intersection turn paths are also provided.
